MySQL Events Scheduler

What is the Event Scheduler?

The event scheduler runs SQL automatically on a schedule — like a database "cron job" for cleanup, reports or summaries.

Example

SET GLOBAL event_scheduler = ON;

CREATE EVENT daily_cleanup
ON SCHEDULE EVERY 1 DAY
DO
  DELETE FROM logs WHERE created < NOW() - INTERVAL 30 DAY;

Every day, logs older than 30 days are deleted automatically.

Summary

Events run SQL on a schedule (EVERY 1 DAY, etc.).
Turn on the scheduler first; good for cleanup and periodic tasks.
